2 Timothy 3:2
2: For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful and proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful. They will consider nothing sacred.
Philippians 2:21

- For even Christ didn't please himself. As the Scriptures say, "Those who insult you are also insulting me."
Luke 16:14
- The Pharisees, who dearly loved their money, naturally scoffed at all this.
James 2:8
- Yes indeed, it is good when you truly obey our Lord's royal command found in the Scriptures: "Love your neighbor as yourself."
